What are some good aftermarket parts for my 2006 Chevy Cobalt LT? I have put on a cold air intake and am going to get a borla exhaust system but what are some other ideas? Also do they make a throttle body spacer for my car?
I own a 1996 BMW 328i. It's auto with 85,500 original miles. Stock except for the wheels, tinted windows, and head unit. Someone is interested in trading me a 1998 Firebird formula 6 speed ls1 with 138k miles but 40k on a rebuilt motor. It has some mods which are Ram air, Ls6 cam, long tube headers, true dual rumbler exhaust system, spec stage 4 clutch, spec aluminum flywheel, 4:11 rear end, and 5.0 short shifter. I've always wanted a t/a and this seems to be a good deal to me. I've had the bmw for 2 months and i love it but the firebird is my favorite car and Ive always wanted one. The guy is looking for a 4 door car because he has kids now and needs more of a family car. My biggest issue is the fact that it's just about winter now here in new england but i don't think either car will be good in the winter weather. I'm just looking for some input and advice on whether or not I should pursue the trade or just say no.
I just bought a used 1999 4Runner Limited with a 183 HP 3.4L V6, i love the car but it has no "umph" needs about 50 more horses for its weight. I do not have $1,000's to spend on turbo/supercharging the engine. I know there are 100's of products out there from gimmick gas additives to air filters. So whats the best way to get the most HP hopefully without extensive rebuilding of the car, (hope for bolt on's). Would a new exhaust like (flowmaster) or something? and a cold ram air system be a good start? Thanks!
Im losing Water from cooling System in my BMW 318SE.. normal driving I need to top up daily ( 1 litre daily), but while not in use there is no leak.
I therefore conclude that the leak occurs while the car is in use. I have checked the exhaust emission, and fine everything is normal, no water or steam visible. I would appreciate any advice Thank you..
A car has a flat tire. this car is equipped with a "balloon" jack for changing tires. It is placed under the car frame and inflated with gas from the car's exhaust pipe. As the balloon inflated, the car is elevated and the tire can be changed. the pressure against the balloon is 0.98 atm and the volume is 15.5 L just before the car is elevated. the volume of the balloon increases to 26.2 L when the car is elevated. the heat from the exhaust fumes is measured at 25.7 J of energy.
What is the system?
What is the surrounding?
Which direction is the heat flow?
What material thing did the work in this problem?
Calculate the change in energy for this "balloon" jack.
How big is the space behind the seats... is there enough room to put 2 10' tube subs and an amp behind them?
I want to get a black one for my next car and i want to put green neons underneath and in the vents and also a new exhaust system that is 98Db :P!
Yes its only a 2 seater!! but i meant behind the seats like the subs you get for trucks in the clio v6 you get a little space between the seats and the engine to store things i was wondering how big that space was too see what kind of subs to put behind them 6 inch, 8 inch or 10'
I bought an alfa romeo 147 lusso 1.9 jtd on saturday and within an hour or so of driving i had the message "motor control system failure" came up and my service light came on. I looked this up and apparently this could either be a fault with the ecu or a fault with the exhaust and lambda sensors whatever they are. Everytime i started engine after that i had a beep and the message reappeared.I washed it thoroughly and when i started my car again at some point the service light went off and all was well again. Does this mean the problem is resolved or what? i was under the impression that once the service light comes on it can only be reset by a garage??? Any help/advice would be appreciated.....
thanks for all the advice, think ill wait and see if it happens again.
I have an '05 WRX and am about to install a header back catless exhaust and accessport. I actually have a few questions. I have heard to keep the stock intake with a perrin turbo inlet hose and foam filter as the cai systems aren't worth the money and only a select few won't affect the a/f ratio. Also, going catless... will that make my exhaust super loud compared to running cats? Currently i have a 3" SR*S catback system and the sound is perfect, no droning and I'm worried that removing those cats will turn my car into a nightmare. Tuning my car with the accessport... will i reach full potential with stock injectors or will I need to get some pinks? Lastly, ok i know this is super long, when it comes time to do emissions will I have to throw my cats back on or will i pass simply by running my tank down and adding some ethanol? If you can't answer all, just answer what you HONESTLY know and don't BS the rest. Thanks so much for the helpful feedback.
Just to clarify i am not looking to change out the headers, just everything after...
my car just heats up too much when it just sits at idle but cool down when running
and the cooling system builds up too much pressure coolant shoot out of the reservoir
no unusual engine sound
no exhaust smell on the coolant
no coolant on the exhaust
just change the water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt and the fan clutch engages properly
So basically I'm trying to buy a car and I want to know people's inputs and see if it's actually worth it, I looked on KBB/Edmunds it was like $4000-$5000. Guy is selling it for $4.5k, giving a 3 month warranty on everything in it but I'm gonna try and negotiate it down to like $4k
I test drove it yesterday and it felt pretty nice, brakes are good, AC/heater system is amazing, trunks been emptied out completely, overall a very clean car. It's not the fastest car in the world or remotely anywhere close to the '99 civic ex I was planning to buy previously(sucks the civic won't pass emissions test)
Here's the info I got from the person:
2002 Mitsubishi Lancer($4500)- about 100,000 miles
yellow, manual shifting (5-speed) (4 doors)
CD player only
AC system with cooler intake (not stock)
new sports shifting stick(short shift)
16 Valve
new headlights
new 16inch O.Z. rims
Greddy rally full exhaust (the whole exhaust system swap)
tinted automatic windows
4 brand new tires
-been in one accident I think, front bumper was damaged, no damage to the engine, radiator. it has been fixed though
-------I'm still planning to get it checked out from a shop but let me know the pros/cons, if it's worth getting, etc
Kids are putting those stupid exhaust systems on their cars to make them sound like race cars, then on top of that, they put million watt plus stereos in them for even more NOISE POLLUTION. Is anybody else sick of this? I am tired of these kids going by my house at 3 a.m. waking me up with widows rattling, then they take off at full throttle all the time, which is annoying and loud. Do they not realize that their hearing is in jeopardy? Don't they have any respect for their sleeping community?
I hit a deer about 2 weeks ago. The radiator is dead, and my power steering is gone. Who should I sell it to and for how much. It has a lot of new parts, but really isnt driveable because of the bent in front end. I am looking to get about 500 for it, and was wondering if that was a reasonable amount to ask for??? The engine is good, and it recently got a new starter, brakes, and exhaust system. Thanks a lot...
Where do I take it to? if I were to do a google search of places to sell it to, what would i type???
At the time it didnt make sense for me to get collision, because I paid 1800 for the car, and would have been paying that amount every 2 years or so for it..
and moreover it is good to sneeze when u feel like sneezing.
and even i have noticed that its not a good thing when somebody belch/burp or when they fart.
whereas it is also a natural process and helps release the gas from your digestive system.
And stopping it not to release means that as if u r blocking the exhaust gasses out of the car which may or will effect the working of the car.
Hello, i have an 04 mustang gt that i would like to put some bbk shorty headers on the car i have bbk O/R x-pipe and a flowmaster 40 series catback system and was wondering if the headers make the car sound any different. Thanks
Hello,
I own a 1996 maxima with about 132000+ miles. When accelerating from 0 to 40 it feels like the car is under power unless I really floor the accelerator. Once the car crosses gear 1 and 2 the power seems to kick in.
What could be the problem ?.
Condition of car:
1. No check engine light
2. O2 sensors replaced two years ago
3. air filter is clean
4. oil changed on regular basis (regular oil not super or high mileage)
5. About 3 years ago has two piston rings replaced and two sparks plugs changed for the related piston ring cylinder. The car felt under powered before the replacement.
6. I fill it up with regular unleaded gas
7. New tires with correct pressure
8. No visible oil leak on the engine, the gasket is good, hoses are fine
9. The car does not hesistate at any speed or rpm
10. Typically I dont hard accelerate unless i really need to cut lanes, typical city driving (stop and go)
12. At the speed of 80 or higher the car tends to vibrate, i can feel it in the steering wheel (I suspect suspension issue since the engine is flowing smooth)
13. The exhaust system is nearing end of live and I can hear funny sounds from under the engine indicating some leaks in the piping.
I have not taken to any mechanic wanted to ask on yahoo to get some theories and feedback so when I do take it to the mechanic they don't sucker me into a big bill.
Thanks
Regards
Ashutosh
My CITROEN C4 GRAND PICASSO EXCLUSIVE has a filter in the exhaust that stops all the black smoke coming out of the back like an ordinary diesel would do.
The engine management light has come on and it tells me that there is a fault with the depollution system. We took the car to citroen and they said it was an electrical fault. We got it fixed and 1 day later the light came back on saying the same thing.
Is it anything to do with the exhaust where the depollution filter is may be?
Or is it somthing else?
I know that they have the same engine codes just a few internal variations. I am in need of a new exhaust for my town car. I also know that the crown victoria is built on the same chassis but i cant find good exhaust systems for it. I was wondering if the Mustang exhaust would work.
I have a 2002 cavalier LS sport, and i have a cold air intake on it. But i don't want to put an exhaust system on it because its like 700 bucks and i don't have the kinda money right now. What are some cheap things i can do to make it gain more hp and go faster?
when you turn the key to start your car, the automobile engine does not turn over nor does anything else happen.
which of the following procedures would be the first ation to take in determining the cause of the problem?
1 change the engine oil for better lubrication
2 add more gasoline for a longer running engine
3 turn on the lights to check the electrical flow from the battery
4 inspect the exhaust system to check for emission leak
5 clean the spark plugs for better firepower
please help!
I had a perf exhaust system put in but they didn't even ask about the cat converter they just removed it. They didn't say much about it so I din't think much of it but now I'm reading stuff about removal of the cat and I'm not too sure.
Can it damage my car? Also my check engine light has never come on and I actually did a engine light diagnostic and there were no errors which I guess are supposed to come on if the cat is missing. They never do a visual check for the smog at my location which is in California. It's a 1500 dollar car basically so I'm not going to sell it or anything should I not worry about it?
i all ready have exhaust system, catalytic converter and headers, still not much power. i mean when i done it to my car, i could feel a huge difference.
so what ells can i do to get more power?
I have 2002 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor and When I accelerate I can here a throaty kind of noise. I think it may be the exhaust system. What are some ways that I can find out where the leak may be coming from? The car has 91,900 miles
Hi everyone,
I've recently been involved in an accident where i was struck by a third party in the passengers side of my vehicle, the issue i have now is that my car is declared as a standard 1.6 mk5 astra BUT it has a genuine VXR front and rear bumper complete with side skirts and standard VXR exhaust system, these was already on the car when it was purchased and as there genuine vauxhall/ opel parts i never declared them as modifications when i purchased the vehicle and insurance policy.
Anyone know where i stand on this as I'm not at fault and the 3rd party will be covering the costs of my repair, any help/ advice will be gratefully appreciated.
I need 2 and labor cost $50 each and he is giving me a break. My car is in for inspection so it must be done or inspection won't pass. He said it is necessary for saving fuel and the exhaust system of fumes.I wonder if he is telling me the truth. My $79 inspection is now upto $406.98 ouch!!!!
What would you recommend outa these 4:
1998 renault clio RT 1.4
Peugeot 106 1.1 LX
Citroen saxo 1.1 2000
insurance price doenst reli matter, takinto account aftermarket exhausts system possibly and induction kit and a K&N air filter
i know about low millage and tht any advice on the cars and why?
Its a 2009 Scion Tc with a Supercharger and TRD exhaust also has a navigation and a sound system. It has 2,200 miles. What is a Reasonable offer to make for this car to get the best price.
Have a 98 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 3100 engine. We have replaced the radiator, water pump, hoses, thermostate, and intake gasket but it still says that it is overheating. It seems to be building pressure in the cooling system. The car idled fine for over an hour but when we took it out on the road it started overheating immediatly. Also do you know if its possible for exhaust to get into the cooling system?
i recently put a new 2 inch exhaust system with high flow cat and extractors on a kj2 ford laser 1.6L and have noticed a tinny exhaust note since this installment. Will this noise go away as parts wear in and what would be causing this?It seems to diminish sort of after the car has warmed up.
any suggestions appreciated
no i got this done at an exhaust shop. what exactly would need tightening something on the extractors or the cat or the piping?
thanks again
Today a friend of mine installed
a K&N cold air intake on my car
and he told me it has an LS6 manifold
and it headers.
my question is
with the K&N cold air kit, the headers, the LS6 manifold, and the loud mouth exhaust system.
approximately how much HP does my car make?
i keep on finding out new things on this car everday.
Want to supercharge a 2004 Pontiac GTO with a vortech supercharger. Runs 8.5 psi, brings the stock hp of 350 to 490.
I am going to get the engine rebuilt, because the car has 50,000 mile on it. I am going to get new forged rods, pistons, racing heads, larger cam, etc. Then I would get performance exhaust, intake, larger throttle body, larger gear set (3.75, or higher) etc.
My question is can I use this vortech system with 490hp with my stock transmission and stock rear end?
I currently have a 06 Tiburon GT with a cold air intake and exhaust system, but gettin tired and bored of it already...if you had 30,000 cash and was lookin to upgrade to something faster and better lookin what would you go for and why? I was thinkin either the Mazda Rx8 r3, or a Nissan NISMO 370z, and eventually puttin a supercharger/turbocharger kit onto it. Thanks
I have a 1994 Accord that did not start this moring.
1) Plenty of battery power (Checked)
2) When you turn the key there is NO sound or movement
3) The starter doesn't turn or run
Problem is that the starter is somewhat new and last time it went bad I had some hard start symptoms before it finally failed. This no start issue is day and night. The only symptoms I have had was loss of power while driving and bucking which made me think of either ignition issues or clogged exhaust. Well I now think my ignition system is bad (Coil, Distributor, Module). But would any of this cause there to be no start conditions for the entire car including no power to the starter?
Sorry.. I guess I should add that the everything in the car that uses power works.
Lights, Wipers, Radio, everything works. Just no start
In What order should I install the following? Struts, suspension, flywheel/ clutch, cold air intake, exhaust system, headers, brakes, fuel injector, cams, tires? Anything else I'm missing?
i just got a 1994 bmw 325i manual with 140000 miles on it. i want to put performance parts in like cold air intake and exhaust system. what else should i do to it to get more power? should i rebuild the engine? replace the clutch? thanks and i have about 10k to put in it.
I am helping my brother sell our extra family car but have no idea what to ask for it. The car is a 1983 Mercedes-Benz 300SD, a turbo-diesel sedan. I looked on Kelley Blue Book for a price but the years for car models don't even go to 1983 so there is no value to compare to. Mechanically, the car is sound, the engine has 140,000 miles (low for a diesel), the transmission is fine, and the exhaust system was replaced three years ago. Cosmetically the paint is faded from the roof, there are scratches down the side, and the interior trim is missing from the dashboard. There is also some rust in the jack wells. Does anybody have an idea what this car would go for? I am thinking of asking $1,600, i bought it for $4,500 four years ago. Too high or too low? While the car could use some TLC, it runs great and these things last forever. I figured it would be great for someone to do a veggie-oil conversion on.
I have a 1997 eclipse gst convertible, with an injen air intake, greddy b.o.v and a really nice brand new knock off n1 exhaust system. car is pretty quick but is fwd and hard to get traction. will burn wheels threw 3rd gear, we are about to go to the drag tack and I wanna know what time I should expect to run. any ideas?
GST is the same as the GSX, both come stock with a garrett t-25 turbo, gst manual is stock 215hp, add another 20-30 hp due to my exhaust and intake system
I have liability insurance that sgtays the same rate no matter if i drive a pinto or lambo
**please i beg you to be detailed!**
please don't answer with dumb answers like "you're an idiot" if you do that please do it to other questions not mine!! :) thank you!
I know absolutely CRAP about cars!!! =] I'm really interested in cars though and I would love to learn!! if there are any links to start learning the basics of cars that you can give me..that would be great! =] But here's the help I need.
*yes i'm an amazing driver! passed my license with 93%* so don't talk crap saying "oh gawd another teenager on the streets!"
My dad has two cars and he's giving me the Mercedes Benz 2003 S-Class 500 with a v8 engine. I want to be able to make this car as best as I can and I need some help. I have a budget of $5,000 that I have saved up..please help me!
I want tinted windows and I was wondering if you knew about how much they cost? For the windows AND installation! is 5% tinted legal? I heard it is for only the back windows, but they need to be able to see the front!
My friend told me NOT to get a paint job if I have a benz..it would mess it up. Do you guys think I could get a paint job for my benz? It's dark blue right now and I want black! :P
I know nothing about an exhaust system, but I've heard a few and I love them! what exactly does the exhaust system do besides make your car sound sexy!! because I want a sexy exhaust on my car! any recommendations on what to do??
Rims!! what rims should I get? I've been suggested 17 inch rims!
Last thing!!! subs! i want to blast music and outbump cars!! but I know nothing about this. How much do subs cost and installation? What all do I need and could you suggest a few different ones to me???
Thank you SO SO SO much for whoever is serious about this and helps me!!!
Please if you give me suggestions/recommendations try and keep my budget at $5,000!
I was doing some research, and I was wondering if it's true that if I swapped out my fuel injectors if it would create more power (HP/TQ)? also would it even be noticeable as far as power increase? how will it effect fuel? Just wondering what I can do it enhance the performance of my car. I'm not trying to boost or build a block, nor am I trying to throw down serious power or cause any unreliable circumstances. Just trying to 'enhance' some power. I know adding on a intake, exhaust system and so on would be some simple power enhancements. My goal is to keep under $150.00/ per part. What are some things I can adjust and what are some add ons?
'04 Mazda 3. Manual.
Yea, planning to get an exhaust system..maybe even down piped, short ram, maybe even headers, and of course chipping.
I love my car to death! amazing set up with the body kit and carbon fiber hood with my wheels...and the customized interior....though she isnt that fast....should I just buy simple upgrades such as...cool air intake...straight pipe exhaust system..intercooler.performance chip....and things like that...will they help that much...im mostly worried about the acceleration..itrs pretty slow..or should I try to sell it and get a manual....please what should I do
My CITROEN C4 GRAND PICASSO EXCLUSIVE has a filter in the exhaust that stops all the black smoke coming out of the back like an ordinary deisle would do.
The engine management light has come on and it tells me that there is a fault with the depollution system. We took the car to citroen and they said it was an electrical fault. We got it fixed and 1 day later the light came back on saying the same thing.
Is it anything to do with the exhaust where the depollution filter is may be?
Or is it somthing elese?
The car has 160k miles it's manual and is about 4 thousand dollars. I plan on putting in performance parts cold air intake, exhaust system new tires anything else I should do or put in? Do you think that I should rebuild the engine cause of all the miles?
i have a 1999 eclipse and my acceleration is horrible! i already have a catback exhaust system in it what else can i install to increase the acceleration?...please tell me what the parts called price and link me somewhere thanks...the car is an automatic
I want to buy a civic 94-99 and do some mods to make it faster, not to make it a racer, just quick and more fun. I DO NOT WANT THIS TO BE A RICER!!!! No body kits, or anything like that. I was thinking probably just cold air intake, and new exhaust system, and maybe lighter wheels. Im looking for a ballpark of how much this would cost me. Sorry for not having many details, like I said i havent even bought the car yet.
I drive the above car and I'm looking to give my car a little more jump, a full exhaust system or new ECU, maybe a turbo or super kit, but I can't for the life of me find ANYTHING for my car. I've trolled over many a website looking for parts but there is almost nothing for this model. Does anyone know where I could find a site or company for this model, or can explain the absence of parts?
I have a 2004 Road King Custom and I want to change my exhaust system. Right not I have the stock cross over exhaust with Screaming eagle slip ons, I also have a stage 1 KIT wich is just a bigger Air Cleaner system to get more Air in.
I want the new exhaust system to be nice and Loud and give me more performance... I am thinking about ThunderHeader 2 into 1 with a false pipe.. but I hear they aren't the best in quality as far as the craftsmanship. I don't want to pay for a new exhaust system to have it only last a year and look like crap.
Anyone have any ideas.. remember I want them Loud enough so that cars here me when I a splitting lanes..
Also are 2 into 1's better then ..... True Duals...? Which should I get... I will likely be adding CAM's soon also.. since I have the Stage 1 and will be changing Exhaust too.. . Thanks everyone.
Hey everyone ;D
I'm wondering if cops in Montreal take notes in their computer system if you give them problems. A couple of examples, say the cops kinda being a prick and I make him look like an a$$ in front of a few people and embarrass him would he be able to write something in his system saying I was giving him problems? What if I have a loud car exhaust do they make a note for other cops to give me problems about it next time I'm pulled over?
Are cops legally allowed to take notes in their computer system about these kind of things or can they only takes notes on a situation that ends in arrest / ticket. Do they make a file on people for other cops to check as soon as they scan your plate?
my talon runs like a charm when warm
but when its cold it takes forever to get going
also my dash lights flicker on and off randomly when i dont even have the switch on. or my headlights turned on...also the running lights go on and off with the dash lights... randomly
the car has new exhaust system with a fart can
new ignition system wires distrubutor etc...its all been done
fuel system as well.
havent checked compression however i think its fine. cause it runs good and starts good when warm. ( no smoke or using oil)
its a 1993 eagle talon 1.8 litre inline 4cylinder with 219k
i have read on the review for consumer guide auto.com for this car that there is an electrical issue that causes this hard start or no start issues with a splice in the wiring that corrodes... they said its near the left headlight is left looking at the front of the car or left sitting in the car.
which wire could it be? or is there another issue that causes this that you know about? i give up please let me know...also what could cause dash lights and headlights to flicker? thanks for any help...

Hi, I am split between two (slip-on) exhausts, Jardine or Yoshimura.
Which one sounds better? I know there is a lot more than sound when it comes to exhausts but I am happy with the performance of the bike and I like the way both look on the bike.
Thanks,
Would It be possible to put on a RS-3 Yoshimura exhaust on a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja EX250? I just want it to sound better and look better. And would it be worth it? Thanks!
I am looking to buy a new exhaust for my bike i want to know about bolt on exhausts comared to full exhaust and also the different brands such as muzzy, two brothers, d and d, yoshimura.
I am looking at buying a used sport bike (GSX-R600 or 750) and a couple I am looking at come with after-market Yoshimura exhaust pipes. Is there any reason to pay more for the bike because of this? I know it changes the sound of the bike, but I don't really care about the sound so what's the point?
Seller of bike says the yosh exhaust cost him $1,000 new
Hey, just wondering what the best sounding aftermarket exhaust for a 99 ZX6-R would be. Two brothers? leo vince? yoshimura? etc. I want it to be pretty loud. Thanks
I am planning on buying yoshimura dual bolt on exhausts and a k&n air filter, those are all the mods i want for it. A specialist said i would run lean on fuel and cause overheating at the cylinder walls, so that it was mandatory i used a power commander, but i dont want any more mods on my bike, is it really that necesary?
I either want a Mini Factory 4.1 or a RS-3 which is better
thanks for your help i need your opinion!!!
please help me asap
I just recently got a 2005 FZ6 and I want to change the exhaust so it will sound better. (sounds like a electric bike right now, it make the bike sound slow)
I have an 08 KTM 250 XCf-W but i believe the 250 SX-F pipes will work as well. Want powerful system, thinking about akrapovic evolution, yoshimura RS-2, fmf 4.1 with megabomb, pro circuit Ti-4 GP, any others? Want power... deep sound (not that important), and spark arrested.
This weekend, I’ve had my bike fitted with a Yoshimura R55 slip on exhaust and remapped on dyno through an official Suzuki dealer.
Gained a bit of power but still a bit disappointed with overall performance. According to reviews my bike, with the stock exhaust should have 108hbp!!! When my bike ran the dyno, (GSXR600 K8 with 7000miles on it with Stock exhaust) I got 98hbp. Now with the Yoshi upgrade, dyno & re-mapping, I now have 105.7 hbp. That is still less than what my bike should have with a stock exhaust.
I haven’t installed mods that could increase the bike weight – Why is it so low?
Thanks,
S
Hello people,
I’ve been given a list of exhaust to go for my GSXR600 k8.
1)M4 GP Mount
2)Racefit exhaust
3)Yoshimura (E.g R55)
Are there any websites out there that could compare these babies for my gsxr?
I’m just looking to find out about the pros, cons, price, road legal? and impact on insurance (if any)
Cheers
I have a 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R and the battery keeps dieing after a few days. I have the normal upgrades on the bike, Extended Swing-arm,Lowered, Power-Commander, Yoshimura 4-2-1 Exhaust, Nitrous etc... The bike only has 5000 miles on it.

I have an '01 ZX7R. I have a chance to buy a yoshimura bolt on muffler that was previously installed on an '05 GSXR 600. I was wondering if that exhaust would fit my bike.
The exhaust is a yoshimura rs-3 can
does fmf, yoshimura, or pro circuit make any 2 stroke silencers for a 2009 kawasaki kx100
I'm planing on buying it and i just want to make sure its worth the money. There are no scratches on it and its really clean, it also has a yoshimura slip-on exhaust.
Well, I just bought a used 2002 gsxr 1000. I love this bike and the guy who sold it to me told me he had a tune up and the mechanic said the F1 light might come on . All you eed to do is turn it off and back on again.
Is this just a GSXR glitch? and does this need to be checked out right away. There is an after market yoshimura exhaust on it can that be why the light comes on?
The light comes and goes randomly. I tried twisting the throttle and letting go before I started it and it goes away sometimes. Otherwise the bike runs fine.
Also how many miles do you usually change the oil on a high performance sport bike?
Thanks
Will a Yoshimura full exhaust TRC system that was on a 2008 Yamaha R6 fit properly on a 2009 Yamaha R6 ?
I heard that Yoshimura goes well with the gixxers, so which exhaust goes well with the Cbr? And if I buy a full exhaust and power commander, is it easy to install it myself or should I take it to a pro? And which is better, the dual exhaust or the single one?
I NEED A MAP THAT'S NOT ON POWER COMMANDER 3 WEB SITE MY BIKE HAS FULL YOSHIMURA EXHAUST WITH K&N AIR FILTER THANKS
Don't really want to. I might wanna sell my bike again and put back on the original exhaust..
I am really excited about getting a bike this summer but I have a couple questions about these bikes:
- Which would be better for my first bike? Why?
- Which is better performance wise?
- Which can I benefit the most from? (What I mean is getting good parts for it, mainly exhaust.)
- Speaking of exhaust, I was looking at the Yoshimura's exhaust, but what is the difference between the Full System and the Slip On for the CBR 600? I also saw a video about the Stiletto Exhaust but where can you buy them?
will a YOSHIMURA slip on exhaust change cc's in anyway? as learners in australia you are only allowed to drive 250cc bike so will adding an exhaust like that increase the capacity?
a friend of mine is selling me a 2005 hayabusa for 5 grand. I haven't heard it yet but i know want a akrapovic or yoshimura. He says its the stock pipes but he drilled em out and its really loud. Do drilled out stock pipes sound good...or do i need 2 go ahead and look into an aftermarket system?
I recently bought a yamaha zuma 125 and i recall the salesman saying that it is not good for the bike to put an aftermarket exhaust on. However, i saw that yoshimura sells an exhaust for this particular bike. can someone clarify what the salesman could have meant like if its a warranty issue?
I am planning to buy an 08 Kawasaki Ninja 250r and I was looking at Yoshimura exhausts and Leo Vince exhausts and I was wondering which would be a better pick. I also wanted to know if I should get the slip-on or full exhaust...

I was originally thinking of getting my head worked on from CT, a Sonic Grind Cam or the HRC cam and a Yoshimura RS-7 Titanium exhaust and a boyeson quickshot and mabye a Dynatek chip or something. BUT now I am just thinking of getting the HRC kit first wich will put me to 45 hp and then the yoshi k&n setup with jetting. that should put me around 55. But if I were to get the CT kit including the hrc kit, exhaust, chip, intake and quishot, I would get mid 60s horsepower but i dont want to be wrenching on it all the time. I guess my question is should I get the CT top end, Wiseco 13.5:1, dyna tek and boyeson quickshot after i get the HRC and the yoshi k&n setup with jetting.
I have a Yoshimura slip on exhaust on my 1996 Honda CBR f3, and have found a Vance and Hines header and mid pipe. Could I attach my slip on to the vance and hines header to make it a full exhaust, per se. or would I have to find a can to fit the vance and hines midpipe? and If that is the case, would a can from a Vance and Hines slip on work, or would the Vance and hines slip on just attach to the Vance and Hines header without removing the can..
A lot of words, I know.. Any help is much appreciated
I am researching exhaust for my CBR and I notice that a lot of online websites have a CA model when it comes to Yoshimura exhaust systems. I was just wondering what the difference between the CA (cali) exhaust system and a normal slip on would be?

I am planning to install a Yoshimura TRC Full exhaust kit on my Kawasaki Ninja 250R. I will have a professional install it on but need to

and if you can answer that question I assume you know about bikes and was wondering how much the full k&n intake for that bike would add? I know I'm pushing some serious hp cuz I'm fat and the front wont stay down until 4th. Plus I've gotten new sprockets 1-3
I have a 98 Honda CBR600F3. I want the fll exhaust system, not a slip-on...
yoshimura R55??? or what else is good???
Which is better performance wise? Yoshimura or Two Brothers???
Not slip on, the entire exhaust, and remember that it is not EFI...
It's for a 2007 GSX-R 600!
Which one? Considering overall factors, nothing in specific.
I have a yoshimura trc full exhaust system on my R6. What is the lifespan or how many miles until it's time to switch it out?
Hi, I am split between two (slip-on) exhausts, Jardine or Yoshimura.
Which one sounds better? I know there is a lot more than sound when it comes to exhausts but I am happy with the performance of the bike and I like the way both look on the bike.
Thanks,

Some educators debate whether to add an hour to school each day to allow high school students can have two fifteen-minute break and longer lunch breaks. Some educators like this idea because they think giving students more break during the day will help them to be more alert in class. Other educators do not like this idea because they think a longer school day will only make students more tired and less able to concentrate on their work. Schools usually have one full period to allow students to have a lunch and study hall, for the first half students will be able to have a study hall and/or lunch for half the period and then go to lunch and/or study hall. Some students believe that if they had two fifteen-minute they would be able to do homework that is incomplete for a later class and/or they would be able to go to teachers for extra help if they are available. Students use study halls to do work or just relax for a period. I believe that students should just have one break and that’s for a lunch/study; if students had two fifteen-minute breaks in the day they would as some educators believe “slack off” and lose concentration due to students interactions during these breaks.
Some educators believe that the breaks would better to help students be more energized during the day helping them concentrate better during the day. The Waterloo Region District School Board has begun making these changes in elementary schools to help better figure out if what they are doing is really helping the kids in a way that helps them do better in the following fields academic performance, having a balanced nutrition, increased physical activity, time for learning during the school day, and literacy program that provides an excellent opportunity for teachers to fine-tune the literacy initiative that they have been developing for a number of years. They have found that there is an increase in all these fields due to the extra breaks during the school day. They are now developing a plan to make this act possible in the High Schools in the county.
President Obama has even stated that longer school days would help to increase learning capabilities in all students K-12. Some parents and educators find this a bad idea due to the lack of time actually spent on school work during the school day. Some parents also believe that if students had extracurricular activities after school that would extended into the night making the children unable to do homework and sleep after school. Instead the educators who presented this act to add an hour would find something much more serious going on than lack of sleep. With students who don’t sleep more than 9 hours at night have been found to lack energy during the school day and are found in the lower 10-15% of their class. While this is only a problem with kids on a regular school day results have shown that due to an increase in the school day; high schoolers have no decreased in attendance and school work is not being completed on time or not at all.
As for my opinion I believe that schools should not be extended due to lack of sleep and time after school to finish any work that may come along. Students don’t need an extra break if they did they would take a study hall to help them prepare for tests and do any homework from other classes as well as get help from other teachers. There are breaks during the normal school day which is called passing period high school kids are able to talk to other students and use the restroom and drinking fountain if needed during the day. We don’t need any extended time to where we can just fool around and hang with friends plus a normal school day allows student to go to appointments after school where as if u had the extended school day offices would be closed and students would have to go during school which interrupts their learning during the school day.
We can see both sides have strong arguments in with they provide detail about why the school day should be increased or not be increased and left it the same and what effects it would hold on students throughout the next 4 years of high school. Facts have been given and arguments have been made, some found this to be insightful (useful) information about an increase in the normal school day for students. Others found it to be useless facts upon useless facts about extending the school day. I believe that the same school hours should be kept in all schools not just the one I go to. Facts have shown that with extended school hours come dire consequences for students in the future.

I would run as an independent with my own party.Tell me if you are republican, democrat, or independent? These are just some of my ideas…I am 16 years old but I want to pursue a career in politics.
I want to create opportunities for small businesses with a new program that I would call “The Small Business Bond Program” where I would allow average citizens to lend money to the government which would then be lent to small businesses and entrepreneurs. In return citizens will receive their money back with interest. This is a two way investment. It betters the state’s economy and allows the lender to make a secure investment.
I would set a flat property tax of 4% on all homes with a value of $2 million or less and a tax of 6% on houses whose value equals more than $2 million. For international companies (including companies that had previously left the US) that come to my state I would set their property tax to 0.3% of their total annual earnings. When it comes to sales tax I would create a sales tax holiday lasting the whole month of December where no sales tax is paid.
This applies to taxes and education so I am placing it in between. I would create a program where students who graduate college/apprenticeship for example between (2009-2013) can receive a $1500 bonus after they graduate.
On education I would focus on laws to strengthen school attendance. I would also make sure that all public school teachers go through state tests every four years to test their knowledge in their respective field. I also want an increase of $2000 for all teachers, firefighters, police, etc. I would make a program to work with a private internet service provider to make sure that all schools in New York have access to the internet. I would make sure that every student has access to textbooks. I am also a believer in vouchers for students wishing to attend alternative schools. There also needs to be legislation over cell phones in school. In my studies I have noticed that it plays a huge part in distracting students from school work. Parents must also take the initiative and make sure their children can receive the help they need (this means shutting of the video games). I also want local workshops paid by the government where students can go to and get tutoring free of charge by college students in certain fields(mathematics, literature). This could count as work study for college students while at the same time prepping elementary and high school kids.
When it comes to social issues I believe in civil unions for consenting adults but hold the belief that marriage is a religious ceremony. On abortion I think that the number of abortions should be lowered as I disagree with it. I would do that by creating programs to aid mothers morally and financially during their birth and 1 year later, during which they must find a job or prove that they are attending school of some type. I also support legislation where hospitals and clinics must educate the mother about the abortion process and its side-effects before practicing it through visual demonstrations, etc.
Like disco lemonade, here I am. Unique, complicated, funky and sweet. I am an independent thinker who loves a good debate. I am a tree-hugger who appreciates nature. I am an intellectual who enjoys reading Hobbes and Shakespeare as well as Dr. Seuss. I am a high school senior who is ready for the next four years of her life as a college student. My family has always been very close to me and they have directly shaped my dreams and aspirations. My mother was born in Zacatecas, Mexico and my father in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Like most immigrants they came to the United States with no money in their pockets, but dreams in their hearts.
My parents met each other in high school. My dad had already graduated and was in college when my mom discovered she was pregnant with my brother. She dropped out of school and my dad dropped out of college to get a job. For the next eight years he worked for an auto-body shop doing whatever his boss asked him to for whatever his boss offered to pay. My mom on the other hand found her niche as a Registered Dental Assistant. She found a good paying job because of her talent. My parents went from living in a one-bedroom house with about four other families to owning their own home; eventually, homes. My sister was born in 1998 and two years later our family found their way to Salinas, California where they bought a small business that they now own and operate independently.
I admire my parents for their hard work and perseverance; it makes me think to myself, “How can I not succeed?” I have been offered so many more opportunities in my life than they were offered in theirs and to not take advantage of those opportunities would be outrageous. My parents read to me every night when I was a child. They encouraged me to read on my own when I was older. I maintained perfect attendance records throughout elementary school and beyond. Education has always been the most important thing in my parents’ eyes. However, it has also been important to them that I become my own person and not a clone of them or anyone else. My parents influenced my creativity and individuality. They allowed me to take up such hobbies as gymnastics, piano and tennis among many others. This helped me to decide what I liked and what I didn’t. Another important aspect of how my parents raised me is they never instilled their own political or religious beliefs in me. They wanted me to discover on my own what I believed in and they always let me research things on my own. Be it by reading Wiccan books to attending Catholic mass; watching CNN or Fox news. The way my parents raised me has influenced much of what I will do with my life after high school.
I intend on entering college this fall with an undeclared major. I have many interests but I am especially interested in working with either young children, animals or the environment. I know that with the degree I will earn from a University of California, I will improve the lives of people in my community and beyond. I am well-prepared for the coursework required to maintain good grades in college. I am aware that I haven’t always had the best grades in high school and I accept full responsibility for that but if given the chance, I am confident that I can do better in college. I have far more potential than what is featured on my high school transcripts. I am the type of person who takes the initiative when it comes to my learning; I am dedicated and self-motivated.
Curious, yet timid. Open-minded, yet strong-willed. I am well-mannered but free-spirited. My family has encouraged these qualities in me. They have given me countless opportunities to think for myself, and learn through experience. They have shaped and molded me and my values. My parents have stressed the importance of education in me from the time I was born. They have worked hard to ensure that the option of continuing my education after high school was available. I know that a four-year university is the right option for me.
I’m not this, I’m not that and I’m nowhere in between, but as Frankie Valli once sang, “Conventionality belongs to yesterday.” I have learned to walk through a room full of noes with grace and confidence. I have brains in my head. I have feet in my shoes. I can steer myself in any direction I choose. My name is Jasmin Ramirez. I am seventeen years old and I hope the world is as ready for me as I am ready for the world.
yeah i just never had it proofread :) and i am still waiting on ucsb. oh and thank you :)
This is my first draft any help would be appreciated

Like for example, most of them make you buy the text book. They are like "Oh I understand that it costs practically as much as a car, but you need to by the book anyway".......If they truly understood, they would say 'don't worry about buying the book, you won't need it for this class.'
& sometimes they go out of their way to prevent people from cheating on exams.........
Ok, if people were that dishonest they wouldn't be in school......they would lie on their resume can claim they graduated.
It's annoying that they don't trust students who take the initiative to be in school.
& if they want to cheat, that's their loss; not the professor's. The students are the ones paying thousands of this education; let them choose how they utilize it.
& why is it that students even as adults in college are still treated like children? Quite often, professors make attendance mandatory. Legal adults do not need to be told what to do, especially when they are the paying customer who's spending thousands of dollars to be there.
So why don't these human being teachers have hearts?
"To help you learn" I suppose? There are so many classes people are required to take that have nothing to do with their major; it's not like they need to know that information.
Eri: 3. "everyone's loss when a doctor gets a degree who hasn't learned anything".....
I'm not referring to people whose job it is to save lives. I'm referring to maybe a business major, or something like that. Just because they are not good test takers doesn't mean they wouldn't make good professional employees.
I am using this personal statement to get into college what do you think of it-(is it well written and convincing?) Can I add anything to it to make it better?
At school I am studying for my GCSE’s in English, English literature, Maths- higher, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, Media studies, Sociology and Drama. In addition I am doing a junior sports leadership award. I think that the GCSE’s I have chosen have a wide range of subjects which I think is a good idea as I will have a wide range of knowledge at the end of my GCSE’s. I enjoy all of my school subjects especially biology, chemistry and maths which I am hoping to study next year at sixth form or college. At school I am predicted A’s and A* in all my subjects as well as this I am continually punctual and have a very good attendance rate.
I am a very friendly person and I like to talk to new people as well as people I already know because I think it is important to have a wide range of friends. I am also quite confident as I am able to communicate well with people of all ages which is very important in a school environment. I would also say that I am very sociable as I enjoy going out and meeting new people, although I understand the importance of studying and I wouldn’t let that get in the way of my school work. My experiences of my studies at Burntwood have lead me to become more independent, organised and self disciplined which I know will aid me when I go on th study at sixth form or college.
In my free time I like to go swimming I also enjoy playing tennis, badminton and occasionally netball. As well as that I attended tooting gymnastics club for 6 years and I took park in many classes including sports acrobatics. By the time I had left I had moved into the squad which is the most advanced group. I enjoyed it because I made many friends, who I would like to continue to be friends with even though I have left. I also enjoyed it because I learned many new skills and I like to learn new things. I think that it has helped me to listen to instructions because at gymnastics you need to listen to instructions to be safe. I also appeared in many displays held at our club it was here where I learned the importance of dedication and how to work effectively under pressure.
In the summer I did work experience in the Lacoste boutique in Regent Street which I truly enjoyed as I learned more independence, I also feel as though I have become more mature since working in an adult working environment. I had an interview before being accepted into my work experience and I was very pleased with myself when the Retail Director, Richard Potzesny said that they were going to accept me. I also learned how to use my initiative more, as in the shop it gets quite busy and most of the time I found myself working alone. I feel that I also taught me how to learn quickly because as the brand was French I had to learn sizing- which was different for women, men and children’s wear. I felt very proud of myself when the manager of the store said that if there were places available next year (when I’m old enough) then they would take me on to work in the summer.
At school I have been involved in many activities including a French residential, a trip to the theatre and another trip to Hampton Court Palace. I am currently on the stage crew for the upcoming production of Bugsy Malone I have taken part in this because I want to learn more about behind the scenes in a drama production. As well as this I am doing a qualification in junior sports leadership, in it you learn how to teach children younger than yourself sport. This has taught me to become more confident when talking to people, as well as being clear in giving instructions. It means that I can get on with people younger than myself well. Within the JSLA course I have taught at junior sports hall as well as running my own swimming gala as part of a team. We are currently working on a football tournament which we will hold at our school. I enjoy these activities because not only do I learn how to get on with children of different ages but also I am working in a team which I really love doing, although I am capable of working alone. At school I am a prefect which is a role I take seriously; this is because I think it is very important to show younger years how they should behave.

Peer Conflict Mediation
School Conflict Mediation
Background
Getting Started
The CLREP Mediation Model
How Does The Mediation Process Work?
Peer Conflict Mediation Objectives
School Conflict Mediation
In our education and school systems today, every teacher must play many different roles, the most obvious being that of instructor with a solid background in a chosen field. Unfortunately, one of the roles that teachers must also assume is that of behavioral manager and disciplinarian. Misbehavior, disruptive behavior and student conflict demand much of our teachers' time. These interruptions rob students of the kind of learning environment conducive to achievement and steal instructional time from teachers. The problem is not new. In recent years, some thoughtful and innovative methods for dealing with school conflict have come into existence and are having remarkable success. One program that has made great strides in minimizing student conflict is Peer Conflict Mediation and Resolution. The concept is deceptively simple: students act as mediators in the resolution of conflicts between their own classmates. Informal methods of having peers confront and resolve conflict have been used with success by individual teachers for some time. The idea of a formal, school-wide peer mediation program is, however, somewhat innovative. What is it about mediation that makes it so popular and successful? In traditional reaction to student conflict, arbitrary and punitive solutions were often used to solve conflict. For example, if two students were involved in a fight, they typically would be sent to an administrator for disciplinary action. Suspensions would be likely (which are recorded on students' permanent records), parents would be summoned, and perhaps further punishment would be meted out. After suspensions, students often return bitter, angry, bent on revenge and, worse yet, days behind in their classwork. In mediation, suspensions for misconduct are the last resort, and many conflicts are resolved through mutually agreeable solutions rather than punishment. Although mediation is not, nor is it intended to be, a panacea for all conflicts, it can be used effectively with a variety of controversies.

Background
School Conflict Mediation is an outgrowth of the neighborhood Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) programs which came into existence in the mid 1970s to help community members seek solutions to problems aside from formal court proceedings. Today, ADR programs are active in most major American cities and other advocates include members of the judiciary, law enforcement officers, and community leaders who act as the primary agents in resolving diverse conflict. This "court of first resort" has had great success. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, mediation programs found their way into school systems in southern California, Hawaii and New York. The University of Southern California aided in establishing programs aimed at reducing gang violence. Many people were surprised with the success that trained gang leaders were having in mediating problems without violence and reducing the number of students injured due to violence in school settings. The key to the success of school mediation is an increased feeling that students can make a difference and can control conflict and confrontation. As mediation programs are coming into being throughout our nation's school systems, educators are claiming that the 3 R's of education are now becoming the 4 Rs, i.e., "RESOLUTION" is coming into its own.

Getting Started
Schools considering a peer conflict mediation initiative must first determine whether there is an interest and commitment to initiating such a project. Secondly, they must evaluate the most common conflicts seen in their school and determine if mediation can be used to resolve them. Once agreement is reached on the types of controversy that are appropriate for mediation, schools can contact CLREP and planning can begin for a school-based initiative. Once negotiations are complete, the initiative begins with introducing mediation to the student body at large. A variety of methods can be employed, such as guest speakers at student assemblies, question and answer sessions, or brochures and other printed material. One approach used during the pilot project was to introduce peer mediation via social studies classes with three classroom periods devoted to conflict and anger, communication, and the mediation process. Students who are interested in becoming mediators are then recruited and the training workshop is scheduled. The training itself emphasizes communication and questioning techniques, understanding anger and conflict, and role playing the mediation process. Once the training is complete and a mediation site in the school has been designated, the program is ready to be implemented. The impact of mediation is displayed in the positive reaction from schools and is having a profound effect on the lives of our young people. The benefits will be seen in years to come as the students of today take on the roles of adult citizens with the ability to resolve conflict in a non-adversarial manner.

The CLREP Mediation Model
The Citizenship Law-Related Education Program of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Maryland State Department of Education developed Peer Mediation as a direct response to the stated needs of Maryland schools which requested an alternative to the traditional disciplinary methods. A great deal of preliminary research was done to find the common elements of other successful programs, which were then incorporated into the Maryland Model of Conflict Mediation. The Maryland Model incorporates these three key elements into all school based initiatives.
All students in the school are aware of the program as a viable alternative to traditional disciplinary sanctions.
Students who are selected as mediators represent a cross-section of the school's population. The mediators are not viewed as members of an elite club.
Teachers, administrators, students and parents are involved in the project's planning, training and implementation. This helps to enhance commitment and to ensure the success of the program.
Based upon our initial pilot project in 1991 and evaluation data gathered from participating schools since that time, the CLREP Peer Conflict Mediation model includes the following four phases:
Phase I: NEGOTIATION/PRE-PLANNING: School/sponsoring agency requests CLREP consultation to design an initiative.
Phase II: PLANNING AND ORIENTATION: Planning, information sharing and recruitment for school involvement.
Phase III: PEER MEDIATION TRAINING: Focus on understanding the importance of anger, conflict and communication in the mediation process. Mediation skill training for students and staff design of the specific school plan for implementation
Phase IV: IMPLEMENTATION: School implements Peer Mediation Initiative with CLREP technical assistance and follow-up consultation.
Each school-based initiative is designed to address the school's needs and requirements within this framework. For information on fees and initiating a project in your school or youth service agency call (410) 706-5360, fax (410) 706-5576 or e-mail us at info@clrep.org

How Does the Mediation Process Work?
The actual mediation process involves a systematic approach to resolving conflicts. Regardless of the type of dispute, the mediation process applies a six-step method to reach agreement. The steps are:
The mediators set the ground rules.
The mediator asks each disputant to define the conflict and to express his or her feelings in a non-aggressive manner.
Each disputant states the problem.
The mediator restates and summarizes the information provided and asks questions to clarify issues.
The mediator then asks the disputants for a proposed solution to the problem and then restates the proposal. The mediator should avoid offering solutions.
When agreement is reached, a contract is written and signed by the disputants.
Conflict Mediation is not peer counseling, nor is it intended to be sensitivity training. It is critical that the mediator remain neutral in order to aid in the resolution process.

Peer Conflict Mediation Objectives
The underlying and primary objectives of peer mediation are:
To increase student understanding that conflict is a natural and normal part of life. Physical confrontation is only one, and the least desirable, reaction to a conflict.
To enable students to work in harmony with each other despite differences.
To create a positive school climate by utilizing a process to resolve interpersonal conflict.
To avoid suspensions and expulsions from school by providing alternative methods of dealing with misbehavior.
To increase attendance and academic performance by decreasing the environment of conflict and violence.
To develop an awareness and encourage the use of compromise as a viable alternative to conflict and to relate this to a deeper understanding of the American political system.

I did not post any type of personal info on craigslist nor to this "company"

Strange things are happening on Earth's surface: A number of people within a 10-block radius in Boston simultaneously drop dead for apparently no reason.
Keyes and Serge are bought together by Gen. Purcell of U.S. government to determine a cause for the deaths in Boston. Keyes deduces that since he is a geologist and Serge a physicist, the people who died had one thing in common - they had artificial pacemakers. Keyes initially believes the cause to be an electromagnetic pulse.
Soon after pigeons in London's Trafalgar Square lose their internal navigational ability and start smashing into windscreens and breaking panes of glass. Upon seeing this news relayed in a webcast, Keyes realizes the cause of these anomalies: Earth's core has stopped rotating. Within a year, the Earth will lose its electromagnetic shield and be fried by solar radiation.
A team of "terranauts" is recruited to drill down to Earth's core and set off a series of nuclear explosions in an attempt to restart the core's rotation. Their $15 billion journey uses a transport made of an indestructible metal dubbed "Unobtainium" equipped with a newly-developed "sonic laser" that can cut through rock.
Meanwhile, police storm an apartment, whose occupant, Rat, a computer hacker, races to destroy his numerous hard drives with a large magnet whilst also microwaving CDs of presumably sensitive material. Aware of Rat's hacking of the FBI database last year, the U.S. government employs him to keep classified information regarding the mission from leaking onto the internet and causing mass hysteria. In return, he asks for an unlimited supply of Hot Pockets as they help him concentrate.
Construction on the vehicle begins in the Utah desert, while lightning superstorms appear above the base and around the world. Rome is devastated by one such incident with the Colosseum and Monument of Vittorio Emanuele II completely obliterated on-screen. Construction of the vehicle continues, with various countries contributing to the effort; flags are shown, including France and Iraq. However while this is going on, Gen. Purcell confronts Zimsky over whether a mysterious Project DESTINI was responsible for the impending disaster; Zimsky vehemently denies this and even states he believes DESTINI can resolve the world's predicament. Eventually the vehicle is launched in the north Pacific ocean, above the Mariana Trench.
Twelve hours into the mission and 700 miles underground, the crew encounter 'static' on the screen. Keyes reacts quickly, stating that he never programmed the guidance system to recognise empty space which is being represented as static. The vehicle drills through the outer shell of a gigantic cavernous amethyst geode, falling under gravity and eventually coming to a stop. The crew then attempts extravehicular activity to free the vehicle from a large crystal embebbed in its sonic laser. They are under pressure however, as magma begins pouring through the entrance they created. One of the crew, Bob, dies when a piece of molten rock falls through his helmet. After resuming the mission, the crew encounters another problem: Keyes' guidance system detects black objects in its path which Zimsky realizes are mountain-sized diamonds. Childs narrowly avoids them but at the last moment, the vehicle is punctured and a hull breach occurs. Unfortunately, Brazzelton is forced to eject the damaged compartment with Serge still inside, who dies after the compartment is crushed under intense pressure.
1700 miles deep, the vehicle begins to pick up speed, increasing from 90 to 130 knots in seconds. Keyes deduces that the outer core's liquid is too thin, with the nuclear detonation unlikely to restart the core's spin. During this revelation, Purcell and Zimsky reveal DESTINI: a secret facility in Alaska with which they can start earthquakes anywhere on the planet. This weapon, standing for Deep Earth Seismic Trigger INItiative, is revealed to be the cause of the stalling of Earth's core.
While the team is underground, the world is struck by more disasters. Huge blasts of microwave radiation from the sun break through the atmosphere, melting the Golden Gate Bridge and frying San Francisco. Upon seeing the devastation, Gen. Purcell decides to activate DESTINI in case the vehicle mission fails. Rat notices this and sends a covert message to Keyes, asking him if he can help. Keyes replies they need more time, and to delay DESTINI. Rat attempts to remotely shut down hydroelectric dams in Alaska but is denied by security systems.
Zimsky works out that instead of a single large detonation, a series of smaller ones will achieve wave propagation and restart the core. They split the bomb into fragments, and deposit them around the core inside ejected vehicle compartments. The Virgil can't eject compartments without them being damaged, so Braz goes into the crawlspace at the front of the ship to activate a gear which makes the ship capable of manual overrides. Braz dies, though, because the crawlspace is filled with 9000 degree fluid and his suit can withstand only half that. However, due to some miscalculations, the final bomb needs to have 30% more energy which must be obtained from the plutonium in the vehicle's reactor. Unfortunately, Zimsky becomes trapped inside a compartment along with a bomb and dies as the bomb detonates. The plan eventually works, with the core resuming its spinning. Meanwhile, seconds before activation, Rat manages to gain access to DESTINI and diverts power from the weapon to Coney Island, giving the crew valuable time to fulfill their mission.
As the ship's reactor is completely drained of power, Keyes and Childs are seemingly stranded in the core, however, Keyes remembers a property of unobtainium and discovers that the ship's hull can be used as a "giant solar panel". Implementing this new idea, they return to the surface of the planet riding on currents. Later, Rat sends files on what actually happened and the now-dead "unsung heroes" to many organizations and agencies across the world.
and what percent of congress is expected to vote yes?
I have an summary of it so read well and tell to me ur reaction...I need ur opinyon so tnxx a lot... ^ ^
Strange things are happening on Earth's surface: A number of people within a 10-block radius in Boston simultaneously drop dead for apparently no reason.
