I keep coming across questions on Yahoo that are like "How do i find a real vampire" and "How can I become a Werewolf without being born one?"

Am I the only one who thinks this is equally as weird as someone asking "Where can I find Hogwarts?" or "How can I catch the Tooth fairy?"


Im not one of those stupid twilight fan girls -twilight's gay- so don't think this is why im asking. People have reported werewolf sightings & attacks for centuries so why does everyone think their only myths, legends, & folk lore? I respect werewolves & I think I know why their hiding.Years ago in france werewolves were almost killed off but the few who survived went to the new world & started new lives.I want to become one of them.no one would notice since im a loner & already act weired so please give me real answers.

There is this old horror movie on VHS, i cant figure out the name of it. Its about a old women who seems like a witch, takes place in the woods and around it. Well she is really a werewolf, she is obsessed with a married guy on the movie. he looks like a lumberjack with a beard. i got inspired by the cirque du freak movie and series and I want to write a story similar, but not the same as it.

i want to have a rather old, but 'forever-18' vampire who acts kind of cool and sarcastic. he gets nicer rather on in the story due to not being lonley.

then he's going to turn two best girl friends into vampires. the two friends, trevor and toby, are going to attend something- it's not gonna be a fresk show- and they are both interested. trevor though, does something stupid where she ends up in the hospital, close to dieing.

toby decides to find the vampire because she knows that he is one and can help them. he agrees, only if she decides to be a vampire. the reasn why he wants her to become one, is unknown. and toby being selfish but nice at the same time says inly if her friend trevor can become one too. she wants trevor to be one because that's her best friend and doesn't want to leave her alone and she doesn't have the happiest life back home; her parents are never home due to being workaholics. the vampire, mr. luna, agrees to that suggestion.

there has to be some other group of people who is against the vampires. i want to make up a creature couse i don't want to use vampanees or werewolves.

trevor and toby are enrolled with school, which is hard for them due to going to the very best school which is conveniently located across the street. an advantage is that they don't sleep, so they stay up all night finishing homework. a disadvantage is that they struggle with their blood cravings and everyone is attractged to them since they are new and beautiful like all vampires. from the other group, only the youngest boy (their age) is enrolled and doesn't like them.

and blah blah blah.
i become so stuck with the plot always.

i usually try to write and improvise as a write, but then i become stuck and ditch the story. i need my plot. does anyone who has a creative mind want to be generous as to help me with the plot?

The man looked up with pleading eyes and said his last words “help us” and then the creature tore him to shreds, the creature came without warning it was quick and it was right there in front of me, my first sight of the creature it wasn’t anything normal it was gigantic, black fur soaked in blood and savage sharp teeth that was has long has a sharp kitchen knife his eyes were deep black and menacing, it was a werewolf a devils pet.
Questions were running through my mind, “What should I do?”, “What about my baby”, “How can I kill it?” “Do werewolves even exist?”
All I could think about now was me and my baby, by now both people would have dyed through a rapid loss of blood so all I can do now was run, run for my life and get help.
I ran has fast has my legs could carry me without looking back. Has I ran I scrambled in my pockets for my mobile, I suddenly came to a halt at the side of the road my hands were shaking and I thought I was finally out of reach from danger slowly my fingers typed the number 999 into the mobile I lifted the mobile up to my ear and then………
BLACKNESS.
The pain was excruciating, it hurt like a thousand of daggers, I could taste the blood in my mouth, I didn’t know what happened I didn’t know what time it was all I wanted to do was go towards the light, the beautiful white shiny light, I wanted to drift off into a deep sleep and never wake up, I was dying and I didn’t care, I had nothing left to live for……………apart from my baby. I heard people talking and saying will she live, is she alright, what happened, were did you find her. And then I was lifted from the cold hard ground into a bed and I was moving, I could here sirens, and could feel someone putting an oxygen mask to my face and injecting a needle to my arm and starting put more needles in my wrist and hand. I was scared, I wanted to get all the wires or whatever they were off me and go home and sleep and escape this nightmare, but I couldn’t move or talk or open my eyes, I was paralysed from head to toe, I felt blind and death at the same time. All I could do was listen to the doctors.
“What’s the details doctor” said one of the nurses
“4 broken ribs, a rapid loss of blood and she must have hit her head when she fell on a rock because she is unconsous, who knows if she will make it out a live” said the doctor
“How about the baby?”
There was a long pause and a sigh “The baby died there was nothing we could do to save her”
I wanted to cry but I couldn’t, I wanted to shout, of course they could have done something to save my beautiful baby girl, she can’t be dead, she’s all I have left to live for.
What hurt me the most was that I couldn’t cry, I so badly wanted to, I wanted to fell the wet tears drip down my face and hear my screams and sadness but I couldn’t because I was unconsous. I wanted to grab the doctor and tell him he should have tried harder I wanted too………… I wanted to die. Ive been through enough pain and its enough I don’t want to suffer anymore.
“There is a strong chance she will live if it was what we think attacked her. Did you contact any living relatives or found any information about her?”
“All her relatives are dead, her husband died 4 months ago, her name is Rose Spence and she is 23 years of age, her current employment is a secretary and she lives in Los Angeles”
“Good job, the other victims do you think they died because of the thing that did this to her, because if so then we might have some glimmer of hope for her.”
“I think so and so do the police; they think it was wild animal or a bunch of crazy people, they said 5 people died in the last 3 months always on the full moon and this makes it 7 and guess what it was a full moon last night but I think you already new that didn’t you, but guess what now they are calling rose here a suspect has she was there when the 2 people died and she is the only person to live.”
“Are they crazy they think she killed them people and then did something to her self so it wouldn’t look funny well personally I think there barking up the wrong end of the tree, why would she do that and kill her baby at the same time”

A brown wolf came. when the black one comes its eyes dont glow. whats wrong and how do you become a werewolf really quickly cos heard about getting that baby thing and clickin on become freind or somthing but i tried and it diddnt work. there was this one werewolf vs vampires rpg at one time tht i played then quit and am currently looking 4 it again.It was like,you chose wht you wanted to become then u started at lvl1.If you like worked at the graveyard or hunted or went huunting,it would take actual time in real life,like an houror so.


I understand all the little girls are obsessed with that garbage Twilight, and have some fetish for little pretty boy emo vampires. But come on! All these kids keep asking how to become a vampire or werewolf. Then you get people that actually think they are real werewolfs or vampire. And these freaking "psychic vampires".

Ok its about a group of kids that somehow got these monsters, i think from a comic book to become real. it was a vampire, a werewolf ,Frankenstein, and a mummy. i guess it came out in the early 90s. they wanted to take over the world and the only friendly monster was Frankenstein. Please help me!


I'm planning a research paper and have read about mythical beasts ranging from vampires, werewolves, ghouls, and even fairies. The goal is to write a paper on a creature of horror. The problem is finding a connection between a creature and contemporary fears. I was thinking about writing about the correlation between the evolution of racism and evolution of vampires (they are becoming less "scary") but this can't work. Does anyone have any other ideas?


I don't know if this question has been asked before or whatever but I just want to know what it was about Twilight that hooked you.

I myself WAS totally obsessed with the Twilight Saga but now, well, I've re-read all the books and I've realised how empty it was. There was nothing more than Edward and Bella's addiction to each other and Jacob trailing behind, trying to win Bella back.

I became hooked because of the way Stephenie Meyer described Edward Cullen. His dazzling crooked smile and his beautiful golden eyes and his smooth, hard marble-like skin and the way he cared so much about Bella.

I no longer like the Twilight Saga, it is plain. The characters are shallow and... Flat. They aren't interesting other than the way they look. Stephenie Meyer sure described how the vampires and the werewolves in a way that made you ignore the character's... Character. (If that makes sense)

Anyway, what's your opinion on Twilight and why you got hooked?

There are many games out there that are very well made and fun but at the same time I still feel like the game for me still hasn't been made. What kind of game would you like to see made? and try to put some details. Make us drool. lol

I would like to see a game that was just as fun offline as online and set to an anime theme. Every anime theme within reason. lol I always liked how in Burnout Paradise you could play in this pretty big city without load times and in seconds be online playing with others in the same city in a real nice smooth transition. That being said I would love the game to play out like Oblivion. I want it to have a bunch of classes, quests and plenty of things to do on the side. The one thing I love about Oblivion is that you can kill hours in the game without ever doing a quest. Breaking into houses, stealing stuff, fighting in the arena (kind of a side quest), killing monsters and exploring the huge world. You can be good, evil or just neutral and be both. Save someone or kill them. Become a thief, a hero or assassin. Ok now take all that times about 10, making it an even bigger game than Oblivion add the anime theme and the ability to go online like Burnout Paradise in the exact same world that you play in within seconds and play with hundreds or even thousands in a nice social gaming experience like in WoW or Perfect World. The game has to have lots of add ons, patches, events as well as a store to purchase items with real or in game money but like Perfect World you don't have to use real money to get the full gaming experience.

Ok and now the gaming theme. Anime of course but with different sections and styles almost like an anime store exploded and combined into one world. Have different cities or even realms with a different anime theme for each one. For instances a realm that was like Trigun and Desert Punk where it is desert like and people use guns and steam powered machine. You would be able to use all kinds of guns and weapons like ones that you would find in any fps but along theme designed. A realm that is more modern with cities with big buildings and automobiles. The people there would be hand to hand like fighters just like Tekken or DOA. It would be cool to see a vast selection of fighting styles in mmorpg. A realm that was wooded with lots of trees and creatures. People there could be magical and tame the creatures to do battle for them. This would be a great place for wizards, clerics and hunters. A realm with castles, knights and dragons. This would be good for of course knights, barbarians, archers and rogues. A realm set in a future like time where you can be any of the classes found in the other realms but with a science fiction edge. Exp, Using robots to fight instead of tamed creatures, laser weapons instead of bullets and gunpowder and scientists instead of wizards using gadgets rather than spells. The last realm would be the a dark realm that would look like the translvania of legend with scary castles and grave yards. Just like the future realm there would be all classes available. Exp. Frankenstein monsters instead of barbarians, werewolves instead of knights and vampires instead of rogues. As well as mad scientists, necromancers, ghouls and vampire hunters.

Every realm should have realm specific side games. Desert realm with a fps side game. Modern realm with a arcade style fighting side game. The wooded realm could have a bunch of puzzle side games in the styles of Tetris, Dr. Mario and Mejeweled. The knight realm would have a hack and slash style adventure side game. The future realm would have a racing side game in the style of Wipeout and F-Zero GX. The scary realm would have a hack and slash style survival side game with lots of zombies and monsters to tear into.

Well that is what I would like to see in a nut shell. lol How about you?


Whatever happened to the old school vampires that killed and ate people-not fall in love with them!

I think i might be one because i can change my eye color into that of a wolfs.i am wake all night and rarely get sleep.in my dreams i am a grey wolf.in my dream i ran through a thorn bush and woke up covered in cuts.i like to eat rare and raw meat.i like to walk on all fours and i dont walk on the balls of my feet.im terrified of guns for no reason.i can change my eyecolor to that of a wolfs.i am slow but when i need to and when i want to i can outrun anyone.i am really agressive.when i eat i tear my food.i have a strong connection with wolves...just so you no i dont read twighlight and i dont obsesse over moveis like those dumb twighlight obsessed pple.i like to eat meat rare and raw.

my night vision is extremely well me and my friend were reading this book at three in the morn when there was a blackout and he couldnt see his hand in front of his face and i was still reading
the moon affects my endurance during a full moon i can steadily run as much as ten miles while when it is not full i can only run 5 miles steadily without tiring out and the cold doesnt bother me the heat does a little and i run better in the dark...and i can run through the snow and it doesnt bother me
i am much faster during the full moon i did a test on this also when its not a full moon i runa a 9 minute mile but when it is a full moon i run a 7 minnute mile the full moon makes me feel stronger...i did an experiment and in a cresent moon i couldnt life more than 150 lbs in a full moon i could lift 200lbs
it takes me about twenty minutes now to slip into a trance it used to take me an hour when i started last year...idk if this is important but i fit in with every social group like popular kids jocks nerds emos everyone and that i can go outside in below 0 temperatures in just shorts and a t-shirt when there is a foot of snow and not get sick i walked a mile to 7-11 with my friend.my hieght is between 5''6'' and 5''8'' i weigh between 160 lbs and 200lbs i havent gotten wieghed in a year..my eyecolor is brown so is my hair color.... in my dreams i am a grey wolf and i can astrally project and ive astrally shapeshifted into a wolf. i cant stand being in large crowds because of my senses and it ruins my hearing but it gets better in like a day i have a really good sense of smell and sight far better than humans.i rarely get sick last time i got sick was 2 years ago i got a sinus infection and strep throat..when im bored and nothing is going on my ears droop down but they perk up when i hear something
i see auras as like a hazey bubble thats tainted a certain color and i am extremely empathetic but i am learning how to be less empathetic and i manipulate energy like i picture the energy leaving them and they become tired or i can take mine or other pples energy and make them hyper i learned you can kill things with it with the frog i accidently killed. anger runs on both sides of my family mostly on my dadds side though and my races are im italian,panamanian,irish,polish.

It all starts back in the days where people rode horses and carried flintlock firearms and a blade of some sort. (don't feel like finding a time period right this second), There's this village that hunts werewolves, and Alexander (optional name/main character) is like their key hunter. He's in love and set to marry his love interest when a group of werewolves attack the village and carry her off. He chases after them but arrives to late, and he fights the werewolf that killed her. As he kills the werewolf with a silver dagger, he gets bitten and becomes a werewolf himself. Disgusted, he turns his back on the world. He begins by feeding on people for a couple of years, but finally feeds on animals. Which now brings us to the present day where he see's a woman who reminds him of his former love interest and follows her into a vampire bar, but is too late and she gets bit by a vampire, so he takes her back to his place to help her control her thirst. They become a couple. I know this was just not well put together, but it's still an idea. I'd also like to incorporate that he's a werewolf that can change into his werewolf form whenever he wants and is able to control what he does when transformed. I'd also like for the vampire to when in sunlight, just be like a human. So by day she'd be normal, and by night she'd be immortal. (It's better than Sparkling.) I'd also like the werewolf able to resist silver to an extent. Like not make him invincible, but not make it "Oh I got shot by Silver" *dies*
My idea for werewolves is more along the lines of the Lycans from Underworld. And I don't want it to be like a full blown love story. Maybe have a love story in it, but they'd always be in constant danger, seeing as how they're not human and all.


i have pets, nightlife, family fun stuff, university and some christmas 1 so can you please tell me what i can do because im getting bored.

Destiny’s silk black hair flowed from under the pin stripe Fedora hat that lay on top of her head. The reflection in the mirror would lead any person to believe that she was any other teenage; except for the clothes of course. Even she herself was deceived by what the make-up had done to her skin. Thick eye liner ringed her eyes, making her emerald green purple haze eyes stand out against the pale skin. Her thin lips were shimmering with a clear lip gloss, even though it stung her lip.
She glanced at the silver clock on the wall and smiled nervously. Her dangerous mission had finally arrived, the one she had been training for all her life. The strapless noisy taffeta opal blue dress with a small bow on the waist moved with her body as she walked to the silver doors of the elevator and pressed the down arrow. She tapped her foot impatiently, moving the small black shoulder bag back up her arm. The small silk bag held the three glass roses; the red one found in Missy’s doll house with the dolls in a murder scene, right before the real murder happened. The blue one on the hood of her car, set there right before a night snow. Finally, the green one which her mother found on her father’s grave. These were the key parts of her mission.
The elevator dinged and the door slid open. She stepped inside and pressed the lobby button, then glanced at the elderly women to the right of her. She has quite astonished to notice that the woman was wearing the same white ankle strap heels as herself. The lady smiled at her and straightened up slightly. “Why aren’t you an adorable little thing? Big date to night?” she asked looking Destiny up and down, the smile still on her face. She looked up at her eyes and then frowned, leaning closer.
Destiny looked away and glanced down at the tiny silver watch on her right wrist and started fumbling with the black stone necklace. “No ma’am, just a party,” she replied with a quivering smile. The elevator stopped at the lobby and the doors slid open. Destiny quickly slipped out before the old lady, not wanting to be slowed down any more. She looked around and saw children in costumes and parents in ball gowns and suits. She looked at them all with a puzzled look on her face; until she finally remembered what day it was. Tonight was Halloween.
She had always hated Halloween. People dressed up as werewolves, witched, and vampires, mocking the world that she lived in. Of course they wouldn’t have known that, but, it was still offensive. Plastic fangs, witched hats and brooms, werewolf masks and claws; the whole thing was a stupid and silly trick.
She slipped through the rotating door and walked through the many levels of the parking deck until she got to the top. She clicked her cars alarm and Vampwolf in the rock version started playing. Destiny giggled to herself as she walked over, slipped inside the lime green wrangler jeep, and slid the key in the ignition to silence the alarm. The car rumbled to life, and she started to speed away towards McKinley Mansion.
The city lights flew past her eyes, and car horns shot through the air (directed at her, of course). A few minutes later, she was twisting and turning through the country side roads. The smell of pine trees filled the air, and then, blood. Her eyes became more focused and her hands gripped the steering wheel, fighting against her natural instincts. The long road leading to the McKinley Mansion was partly hidden by over grown weeds, growing bushes, and giant trees. She slowed down as she turned down the drive way and started towards the house. The more she drove, the more her car bounces and pounded from music.
The trees parted and she saw the breath taking mansion; for magical creatures only of course. Werewolves, vampires, fairies, goblins, trolls, ogres, witches, the whole nine yards were in front of and inside the giant house. The McKinley Mansion was beautiful, its white outside covered with the ivy green vines crawling up its sides and the little pink flowers were still blooming here and there. The wooden shutters were on the outside instead of the inside of the house, but considering its age that was normal.
Destiny climbed out, touching her shoulder to make sure the bag was still there and ran her hand through her hair and smiled. She was here for business and had to resist the urge to join the party. She headed down the gray stone path towards the front door of the house, squeezing her way through two witchs having a squabble about weather humans were really as good of a test subject as they seemed.
She slowly walked up the wooden stairs, her hand gracefully gliding along on the hand rail. She came to a hallway, and went to the very last door as instructed. The upper floor was deserted, mostly because people really didn’t find it nearly as attractive as its older and classier lower level. so i'm traveling down a moon lit path in the woods. its a dark path and theres alot of dead animals in my wake. I don't feel human, but i look at my hands and instead of fingers i have a huge hairy palm with blood stained claws and i have the taste of blood in my mouth. I look down at the rest of my body and realize that I am a gruesome werewolf. i realize that i was the one that did this, and i start moving. further down the path i run into a house. more like a shack. its beaten up and rusty, and i go in. I see my wife, and i start to feel like i'm becoming human again. but I see a man walk out of the bedroom area of the shack and i presume my wife had been cheating on me. I immediately go into a rage and start turning back into the werewolf. and I brutally rip this man apart and start howling as his blood splatters on the wall. I leave the shack leaving my wife un touched and continue down the path. i'm coming down this path and i run into a man on a war horse. full battle decal armor with a giant spear. he takes a defensive stance against me but his armor and his weapons are no match for my brute strength and power, I take him down with ease but I don't harm him. I begin asking him why he was trying to hurt me, I did nothing to him. and why he specifically targetted me. he responded but I couldn't understand what he was saying. I told him i would grant him mercy if he left me alone and he agreed to it. I turned around and immediately he went for his sword and with one swipe I took his head off his body and started cursing at his remains.
after he was dead, I felt some sort of relief. I felt at peace for some reason.

and then the alarm went off and i had to wake up.

another question, why is it that I don't remember 99% of my dreams and the ones I do remember are always nightmares? it's been like this since I was a child and I don't understand why. I mean sitting here thinking I can't even remember if i've had a good dream in the last 8-9 years.


I'm writing a story, and I need some inspiration. Its about people who have powers (Shadow-the power to become and transport through shadows, Imaginaire-the power to make your imaginations into reality, Elemental-influencing the elements, Speaker-the power to speak for inanimate objects) and there are creatures (werewolves, vampires, kelpie, puca, genie, banshee, siren, nymphs, pixies, brownies, witches/warlocks) but that's all I can really think of.

Does anyone have any other ideas for either powers or creatures? Be creative. No mind-reading, seeing the future, super strength, or superspeed. Those have been overkill lately.

I never saw x-men (It never intersted me) and when I looked up banshee, i got an impression that it was a woman who goes to people's houses at night and wails. This means that someone in the family is going to die soon. Other versions say that if one hears a banshee's wail, that person, or one of the people if multiple people hear it, will die soon. Different versions, same ending.

In New Moon Edward's family throws a birthday party for Bella‘s 18th year. Bella
gets a paper cut on her finger from an envelope she got for her birthday and Jasper attacks
her because he can't control his blood urges. Edward had to stop them and then Edward
gets too over protective and then decides to leave Bella forever because he thinks its best
for her so she can live normal life and not be in that much danger. Edward and his family
leave forks for good. Bella lives her next 6 months in a depressed trance. As if she went
all blank.
She then meets Jacob and spends a lot of time with him at La Push where she
learns that the Cullens aren’t the only family with a secret. Jacob and his family are
werewolves. And Jacob tells her that Victoria is back and is hunting for Bella so the pack
splits up and tries to protect Bella. Jacob and her start to become friends and were almost
to the point of becoming more than just friends and they do dangerous activities like dirt
biking, cliff diving, etc. which leads to Alice seeing it in her vision that Bella jumps off a
cliff and so she thinks Bella is trying to commit suicide and so she tells Rosalie. Edward
calls Rosalie and she tells him that Alice has gone finding Bella because she’s going to
jump off a cliff. Edward phones Bella's house phone and Jacob answers and tells him that
Charlie is at a funeral (Harry Clearwater’s. Not Bella’s) but he didn’t say who it was and
he thought it was Bella’s so he wanted to die because he didn’t have her anymore.
Bella and the Cullens go to Volterra, Italy to rescue Edward because he is
attempting to make the Volturi angry which are a powerful family because he thinks
Bella is dead and is trying to get the Voluturi to kill him. They both save Edward before
its too late. Bella there meets the Volturi. They want to kill her because she knows too
much about vampires. Then Alice says that she has seen Bella become one of them. The
Votluri let them go.
They then return home to Forks and everything goes back to normal. Edward spends a lot of time with Bella, so Charlie puts a curfew to his visits. But he still finds a way to be with her for some more time. Which leads us to then next book, Eclipse.

Ok so im looking for this werewolf movie that i saw on cable tv a few years ago. Its about these two sisters who wonder into this colonial settlement and the settlement is under seige by werewolves.

I think like one sister becomes a werewolf (perhaps even the leader of the werewolves) and at the end the younger sister is suppose to kill her sister to save the town and everything but instead she decides not to and they either both become where wolves or somehting and then eat every one in the settlement. Also has some native American mystics in the beginning. i think they were talkin about prophecy and stuff


So call me a nerd, but lately I've been becoming a big fan of the Underworld Series. Also as a fan of Twilight, I think there is just something about the adventure, danger and sensuality of vampires and werewolves that is very intriguing to me. Anyways, a big question (one of many) in the Underworld series is why are there no female lycans? I realize that they can just bite new specimens (rather than "reproducing") to get more of their kind, but I just find it odd that there are no females. Any opinions?

I often dream that I'm a werewolf or become one. The themes themselves vary a lot. I've been having dreams like this quite often, ever since I was a child.
I can link werewolves and primary instincts to a core part of my personality that I can't release in public, due to social norms.
I'm trying to broaden my comprehension behind this repetitive self transformation in my dreams.

Hi I'm writing a series called NIGHT ROAMER: Book 1-Eternity and bottom line its about a 15 year old girl who becomes a werewolf. Tell me what you think about this little part. Running the hairbrush through my black, silky hair, I looked at myself in my baby-bluer rimmed mirror on the wall.
I guess you could say I was pretty. I had a small, round face and dimples when I smiled. My blue eyes were bright and full of curiosity, but yet fear. I didn’t have any bangs or glasses, but my face was dotted with freckles. For some reason, I had a star-shaped birthmark on my shoulder. My grandfather had the same mark and had always said, “You and me, well, we’re special.” before he went missing four months ago. The police presumed him dead, though no evidence was ever found.
But yet, for some reason, I know for sure he’s alive an out there somewhere.
“Linda! Are you ready yet?” My dad shouted. 8:00 AM. The bus should be here.
“Hold on, Dad!” Realizing I still didn’t have any shoes on, I slipped on a pair of dark blue “Converse®”, grabbed my backpack, and ran downstairs.
“Bye, Dad! See you at five!” I sprinted out the front door, expecting the bus driver, Mrs. Beredi, to quickly open the bus doors for me.
SLAM!!
I toppled over, landing on the dirt ground. Rubbing my head, with one eye closed, I looked up at the shut bus doors.
The woman bus driver opened the doors, staring down at me like I was some kind of vermin.
“You need your bus pass.” The woman snarled at me. This was definitely NOT Mrs. Beredi.
Mrs. Beredi was a kind old woman, always gently greeting the passengers, and for me, opening the doors as I sprinted in. Her green eyes always had a certain twinkle that made you know for sure that everything would be ok. She was the person that actually made me look forward to a new day.
This new woman was about 50 something and she smelt of rotten milk and spit. Her curly, flaming red hair was tangled and matted, reminding me of Medusa. Her eyes looked like black coals, ready to ignite and burn up your hope. Her nameplate read “Angel Chalker.” I could tell that she was no angel.
“What bus pass? And where’s Mrs. Beredi?” I exclaimed, standing back up.
“No bus pass, no ride. That’s the rule.” I saw other passengers holding the unfamiliar passes, but why didn’t I have one?!
“Where’s Mrs. Beredi?” I glared at Chalker.
“She retired yesterday afternoon! Now, give me your bus pass, or NO RIDE TO SCHOOL!” She impatiently snapped, holding her hand out for a pass that I didn’t have.
“I never got one! Mrs. Beredi never made me give her a bus pass!” I yelled in anger.
All of a sudden, the bus doors snapped shut, inches from my pointed nose.
I stared in horror at Chalker as she started up the bus and drove away.
“No! WAIT! Comeback!” I screamed as I ran after the bus as it got farther and farther away from me.
I ran for about 15 minutes without stopping, yelling and running my way into the little town named Bradbury, a mile from home.
Finally, I could run no longer. I collapsed at an intersection, my heart racing, my mind blown away by the reality of my life.
After I had slowed my breathing, I thought about how I would get to school now. Since there wasn’t a high school in ancient Bradbury and no one could bear to tear down any of the so called “important history of our town” buildings, all high school students were registered to James High, in a town about 65 miles from here.
Two hours away. By car.
I groaned. It was much warmer now, and much more humid, adding to my pain. I remembered I hadn’t eaten any breakfast-my stomach growled and twisted into furious knots.
I grimaced in pain. I was so tired and hungry and upset.
After the stitch in my side from running so long had gone away, I stood up. The speeding cars made me wish that I could drive. Being only about 15 ½ , I could have gotten my driver’s permit, but Dad didn’t want me to drive yet, he says that “the government should wait until people are 18 to get there driver’s license, otherwise it’s the parents job to take care of the kid if an accident happens!” ‘
I sighed. Fine, I thought. I’ll just walk to school. Beginning to walk in the direction of James high, in the direction of the hot, blazing sun, I was confident (ok, not really!) that I would make it.

I'd like detailed answers to this, not one-line "Because I like Vampires"...!

Firstly, I've never read the "Twilight" series, and I never intend to.
I have read the synopsis' and reviews, and it quickly became obvious the first books are riped-off from / 'inspired' by the 90s teen series "Night World" by L.J. Smith {she really started the 'soul-mate' idea}. Plus, it seems Ms. Mayer writes like an idealising 17-year-old.

So, why do you like or dislike the books?



What are / were your favourite teen-fiction or 'Young Adult' books / series in the 'Fantasyish' genre? Favourites aimed at 18+ / 20s? And why? {and do you still own them?}
* remember, some books aimed at 'Young Adults' are written well enough to still be enjoyed by those of us in our late 20s and beyond.


Mine :

"Night World" by L.J. Smith [series - 10 books . still waiting for #10]
Reason: Engaging characters, variety, realism ~ no one got a 'perfect' life. In fact, my favourite, recurring character didn't even get to be with his soul-mate.
Own: I read at the time of publication, sold my copies long ago, but may re-buy or re-read before #10 release.

"Blood and Chocolate" by Annette Curtis Clause
Reason: Finally, a good, original werewolf novel! Interesting characters, a credible plot, and a good resolution {unfortunately, I hear the film adaptation was appalling}.
Own: Very much so ~ on my bookshelf!

"Wicca" by Cate Tiernan {series - 15 books.} [called "Sweep" in the US]
Reason: A rather unique plot, very well written, gripping charaters. Very intense.
Own: I was addicted to these books at the time, but a few months after reading the final entry I sold them. They are good, but I didn't think I'd re-read them.

"Kitty Norville" by Carrie Vaughn {series - 7 books .6 published}
Reason: One for older readers, as it doesn't focus on romance. Unusual premise, good characters, humourous.
Own: Yep. Series still great at book #4, and about to read book #5...

"Dresden Files" by Jim Butcher {series - 12 books . 11 published}
Reason: Definately for the over 18s, or those with a high reading age. Wonderfully written, engaging characters, *humour!*, credibility.
Own: Absolutely! Read books #5-10 addictively in a few days, waiting for #11 in p/b.

All the "Tortall" books by Tamora Pierce {series - 3 quartets, 1 duo, 1 trio}
Reason: Aimed at young adults, but appeals to 20-somethings too due to the plots, characters, and style of writing. These books treat the reader as an intelligent individual.
Own: Still collecting :)

I am writing a fantasy novel and I can't think of my main characters name...
She is a 16 year old British (English) girl that has been reincarnated from a wolf to a hawk (now a human, obviously) and becomes a werewolf.
She has platinum blonde hair that goes right down to her bum and piercing blue/grey (wolf like) eyes that sometimes look silver with hints of gold.
Her skin is a very pale, milky colour and sometimes looks a little grey.
Her mother died when she was 11 years old and her father is an alcoholic.
So, what do you think?
Can you help me?
I'd like quite a pretty name.. possibly made up!
It doesn't have to but I'd love a name that begins with either the letter 'L' or 'B', but I'm not really too bothered about that detail.

here's my view in werewolves, there are man types
lycans- they can change at will, all weaknesses apply, but have control while a lycan, can chose to kill or transforn a person into a lycan..Key word --Control,

werewolf- is forced to change at the moon, losses self control and often becomes a killer, has no control, but all weaknesses apply IE: silver.

Me and my friend were talking about old Disney Halloween movies and I thought of it... He was a teen and he was a werewolf or SOMETHING in that category and he solved supernatural mysteries and stuff. I remember one episode where he realized this one guy was a vampire because he didn't have a reflection if that helps. It was on FOX family before it became ABC family and then got canceled. WHAT WAS THIS SHOW???


ok this is totally lame but i really need help...
Alright I'm a writer and I've been writing novels for young adults since i was little and I'm normally really, really good at coming up with a nice title for a book, and I've done that with the first three out of the four book series i'm working on but i just...cant i cant come up with a good sounding title.
The series is called 'The Fledgling Series' and it's about vampires/werewolves/lycans/humans yada yada (not a twilight remake please don't insult me by putting any comments like that down) and the first three out of four are called:
Love Bites - story of a girl falling in love with a bad vamp.
Life Sucks - her being turned by that bad vamp.
Death Stinks - her coming back after dying several times.
?? - the story is of her leaving the coven she was with and becoming something dark and rather evil and they have to come and save her from it. the book is coming along wonderfully so far its the best out of the series but i just cant think of a dang title and its killing me.
Obviously i want it to go along with the others; and fit in with the short first words and the adjectives that follow but i just have writers block or something...any suggestions yahoo?

I'm doing a paper on the myths and folklore of redheads and have found a few sites that mention that the Greeks believed that redheads became vampires after they died, but it's never explained or even titled so I don't know what to look for. I would really like some help.
Also if you know about redhead werewolfs that would be nice too! I already got some witchy stuff.

Okay, if someone says something that you disagree with, don't call them out or flame. I simply started this because ever since Twilight, vampires have become more popular and I'm curious as to who likes which vampires best. Meyer's vampires? Rice's vampires? The vampires from True Blood? The Vampire Diaries? The House of Night? Another group? Why do you love these vampires so much? Which ones don't you like? Why not? What got you into vampires? Feel free to think about the werewolves and witches and shapeshifters as well.

I personally love L.J. Smith's version of vampires, witches, and werewolves. Her books are what got me into vampires - a couple years before Twilight. She's got two big ones: The Night World and The Vampire Diaries (yes, that's what the show is based off of). Creatures from both stories are slightly different, but they're all awesome. I like them because she makes them seem so real. She developes each character so fully that it makes me wonder if she's ever met a vampire. Lol.
As far as vampires that I don't like... I don't think I like the Twilight vampires. They have almost no weaknesses and they sparkle in the sun. I love the story line, don't get me wrong. It's just the vampires I don't like.
I also like Anne Rice's vampires, but the books are so boring for me.
